Effective July 1st, St. Patrick Parish will welcome Monsignor Valentine Handwerker as its new Parochial Administrator. Monsignor Handwerker has been rector of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception Parish in Midtown Memphis for the past 17 years.
Monsignor Handwerker will be appointed as Parochial Administrator of St. Patrick Parish from July 1-7, 2017. Bishop Holley has graciously granted Monsignor Handwerker a sabbatical from July 8-November 9, 2017. After his sabbatical, he will resume as Parochial Administrator of St. Patrick Parish on November 10, 2017.
While Monsignor Handwerker is on sabbatical Fr. Dexter Noblefranca will be appointed as Parochial Administrator of St. Patrick’s from July 8-August 15, 2017.
From August through November St. Patrick will be served by other priests of the Diocese of Memphis.
His Excellency, the Most Reverend Martin D. Holley, D.D., Bishop of Memphis in Tennessee, will install Monsignor Handwerker as pastor following his return from his sabbatical.
Fr. Patrick Gallagher, our current pastor, has been assigned to St. Therese the Littler Flower Parish on Jackson Avenue in Midtown Memphis. Fr. Gallagher has loved his time at St. Patrick’s and will continue to pray for our parish and asks that we pray for him as he begins his new ministry as pastor of St. Therese the Little Flower Parish.
